Bird Buddy offline?
Check power, feeder contact and the home connection before pairing again.
The quick answer
Refresh the device status, check power and test near the router. Match the restart procedure to your model: Home and Nook use a different battery design from the original camera.
Applies to Original Birdbuddy / Nature Cam Pro plus separate notes for Home and Nook. The timed button sequence is only for the original camera design.
Check the status and model first
Birdbuddy defines offline as a loss of communication with the internet access point. Refresh the feeder status in the app before changing any hardware.
Write down the exact status rather than describing every failure as offline. An unavailable live stream, a missing postcard and a camera removed from its feeder are different observations. This distinction helps you choose the next check and describe the result to support.
Identify the camera generation from your order and app. A button sequence for the original camera should not be applied to another battery design.

Check power and feeder contact
If the camera does not respond, follow the charging checks first. If it does respond, compare the status while it is correctly seated in its feeder.
Home and Nook have external batteries and can report offline when the camera is out of the feeder. The current FAQ describes removing and reinserting these modules as their power-cycle method. For Home, also inspect the magnet/contact area for debris.
Use the guide for your exact model when removing or reseating parts. Record whether the status changes after reseating; this is useful evidence even if the problem returns.

Restart the original camera design
For the original Birdbuddy / Nature Cam Pro, the official offline procedure is:
- Hold the button for two seconds, releasing when the red light stays on.
- Wait at least one minute. Restart your router during that interval.
- Press the camera button for one second to switch it back on.
Wait for the network to return, then refresh the app and try live view. This is a power cycle, not the longer factory-reset sequence.

Compare near-router and outdoor behavior
Our suggested comparison is to test the powered camera near the router, then repeat at the intended outdoor position. Use the same app and account for both tests. Note whether it stays online and whether live view opens in each location.
If it only works indoors, investigate the connection at the feeder before repeatedly deleting and re-adding the device. If the router or network credentials changed, use the Wi-Fi pairing guide and check the supported band for your model.
Re-pair once, then escalate with evidence
If power and network checks do not restore communication, follow the manufacturer's linked reconnection process for your model. The original-camera process includes removing an old BUDDY Bluetooth entry if present, a documented factory reset and another in-app pairing attempt.
Do not repeat a factory reset indefinitely. Collect the exact model, battery status, router model, last working date, error message and the outcome of the near-router test. Use official Help & Support with that record, including any difference between seated and removed camera behavior.
